About Us

The African Catholic Community (DHN) is a faith community formed by African Catholics living within the Diocese of Hexham & Newcastle. We come together to worship God, celebrate the Holy Mass, and support one another in faith while embracing cultural expressions familiar from African Catholic traditions. Our community is rooted in unity, prayer, and fellowship, and remains fully aligned with the teachings and life of the Catholic Church.

Our Vision

Our vision is to nurture a prayerful and welcoming community where African Catholics can grow in faith, experience a sense of belonging, and pass on Catholic values to future generations, while contributing positively to parish and diocesan life.

Our Beliefs

We profess and uphold the teachings of the Roman Catholic Church, rooted in Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the Magisterium. We believe in the celebration of the Sacraments, the importance of communal prayer, and living out our faith through love, service, and unity within the Body of Christ.
